Cookie Policy

1.1 This Policy covers our own website and web application. It explains what we place on your device, why we place it, how long it stays there and what choices you have.

1.2 This Policy does not cover cookies set by any website or application that we analyse for a customer. Those belong to the operator of that property and are governed by that operator's own cookie notice. Clause 9 explains how analysis interacts with cookies.

1.3 This Policy does not cover third party websites you reach through a link in our platform or in a report.

2.1 A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store and to return on later visits. Cookies allow a site to recognise a browser and to remember information between page loads and between sessions.

2.2 A first party cookie is set by the site you are visiting. A third party cookie is set by a different domain, for example a provider whose script runs on the page.

2.3 A session cookie is deleted when you close your browser. A persistent cookie remains until it expires or until you delete it.

2.4 We also use technologies that are not cookies but perform comparable functions, including local storage and session storage, which hold data in the browser; software development kits and scripts supplied by our providers; and pixels and similar identifiers embedded in emails, which tell us whether a message was opened. References in this Policy to cookies include these technologies.

3.1 To sign you in and keep you signed in as you move between pages, and to protect your session against interception and cross site request forgery.

3.2 To remember choices you make, including the analysis model you selected, interface preferences, language and your cookie choices.

3.3 To keep the platform secure, including detecting automated abuse, enforcing rate limits and identifying attempts to circumvent free plan usage limits.

3.4 To understand how the platform is used, which features are working and where users encounter errors. Because the platform is still in active development, this information is central to finishing and stabilising it.

3.5 To operate billing and subscription flows in conjunction with our payment processor, including preventing fraudulent transactions.

4.1 Strictly necessary cookies. These are required for the platform to function and cannot be switched off through our cookie settings. They include the authentication and session cookies that keep you signed in, security tokens that protect forms and requests, load balancing identifiers used by our hosting provider, cookies that record your cookie preferences, and cookies set by our payment processor during checkout to authenticate the transaction and detect fraud. Without them you cannot sign in, run an analysis or subscribe.

4.2 Functional cookies. These remember choices you make so that the platform behaves the way you expect, including your selected model, dashboard layout, dismissed notices and language. If you decline them, the platform still works but will not remember these preferences between visits.

4.3 Analytics and performance cookies. These help us count visits, understand which pages and features are used, measure how long tasks take, and identify errors and slow responses. We use the resulting information in aggregate to improve the platform. If you decline them, we will not measure your usage in this way.

4.4 Error and diagnostic technologies. These capture the technical context of an error, including the page, the browser and the sequence of actions that preceded it, so that we can reproduce and fix defects. They are particularly important while the platform is pre release and while the mobile experience remains unoptimised.

4.5 We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not use cookies to build advertising profiles or to serve cross context behavioural advertising. If that changes, we will update this Policy and obtain any consent required before the change takes effect.

5.1 Some cookies are set by us directly. Others are set by providers whose services we use to host, secure, measure and support the platform, including our cloud hosting and content delivery provider, our payment processor, our product analytics and error monitoring providers, and our email delivery provider.

5.2 Those providers act on our instructions and under contract. They are not permitted to use information obtained through our platform for their own purposes.

5.3 We do not permit third parties to place advertising or tracking technologies on the platform for their own commercial purposes.

6.1 Session cookies, including those that protect a form submission, last only until you close your browser.

6.2 Authentication cookies last for the duration of your signed in session and, where you choose to stay signed in, for a period that does not exceed thirty days before you are asked to authenticate again.

6.3 Preference cookies, including your record of cookie choices, last up to twelve months, after which we will ask for your choices again where consent is required.

6.4 Analytics and diagnostic cookies last up to thirteen months.

6.5 Local storage entries persist until they are cleared by us, by the platform when you sign out, or by you through your browser settings.

6.6 Actual durations are set by the technology concerned and may be shorter. You can inspect the exact cookies and expiry dates in the storage section of your browser developer tools.

7.1 Where the law that applies to you requires consent before non essential cookies are set, we ask for that consent through a banner when you first visit and we do not set those cookies until you have made a choice. This applies in particular to visitors in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom.

7.2 Declining non essential cookies is as easy as accepting them, and you may change your mind at any time through the cookie settings link available at https://www.saveyourapp.com.

7.3 Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of anything done before you withdrew it. After withdrawal we stop setting the relevant cookies, and existing ones will expire or can be deleted through your browser.

7.4 Strictly necessary cookies are set without consent because the platform cannot be provided without them. If you block them through your browser, the platform will not function correctly.

8.1 Every major browser allows you to see the cookies stored on your device, to delete them, to block them entirely, to block third party cookies only, and to clear them when you close the browser. These controls are found in the privacy or site settings section of your browser, and the browser vendor's own help pages explain them for the version you use.

8.2 Blocking all cookies will prevent you from signing in and from using the platform.

8.3 We honour the Global Privacy Control signal, where your browser or an extension transmits it, as a request to opt out of the sale and sharing of personal information where that right applies to you. As stated in our Privacy Policy, we do not sell or share personal information for cross context behavioural advertising.

8.4 There is no common industry standard for responding to browser Do Not Track headers. We do not respond to them separately, and instead rely on the cookie settings described in clause 7 and on the Global Privacy Control signal.

8.5 Clearing cookies signs you out and resets your preferences, including your cookie choices, so you will be asked for them again.

9.1 When we analyse a website or web application at a customer's request, our systems load its pages in the way a visitor's browser would. During that process the property may set its own cookies in the environment we use to load it.

9.2 Those cookies belong to the operator of the property, not to us. We record their presence, their names and their attributes so that we can describe the property's behaviour in the report, including where a configuration appears to raise a security or compliance question for the operator to consider.

9.3 A report of this kind is a technical observation. It is not legal advice and is not an assessment of whether the property complies with any cookie or privacy law. Operators should take their own advice.

9.4 Our loading of a property does not place cookies on your device, and does not place cookies on the device of any user of that property.

10.1 Some cookies contain or generate identifiers that constitute personal information under the law that applies to you. Where that is the case, our Privacy Policy at https://www.saveyourapp.com governs how we handle that information, including the legal basis for processing, how long it is retained, who it is shared with, and the rights available to you.

10.2 Where consent is the basis on which a non essential cookie is set, that consent is also the basis on which the personal information obtained through it is processed.

11.1 We may update this Policy as the platform develops, as our providers change, or as the law changes. The current version is always published at https://www.saveyourapp.com with its Effective Date.

11.2 Where a change introduces a new category of cookie for which consent is required, we will ask for your consent again before that cookie is set.

11.3 Because the platform is still being built, the specific technologies in use may change during the coming months. We will keep this Policy aligned with what is actually deployed.
